I know, and I understand as much as I can, obviously I don't know everything you went through but get it. Love and hugs to you. xxx Sometimes it still triggers me reading parts of the Bible, in truth. Is a mixture of emotions. Thanks. XXX

When I think about someone hurting others as Christians, I get so angry.
Because faith and church and all of that is supposed to be healing and nurturing. But if it's not, how do we expect people to not be angry?
Why do we expect people to be open to God and the Bible if we Christians are the very thing causing trauma in people's lives?
We have to clean the inside of the cup, not just the outside.
If Christianity is merely a format of rules--- than yes, it is damaging.
It is just as damaging as any cult.
But God is not an abuser. Jesus isn't a trauma-creator. It's people who take the Word of God and use it to inflict pain with no healing, judgement with no grace, and half-truths without love.
I will try not to talk about Christianity on here for a while.
Without love, it's all meaningless

Without love, it's all meaningless Why do you need Christianity to be kind, peaceful & loving, to be of compassionate service to others / life, to do what is right, good & kind? Why isn't an Atheist / secular humanist, witch, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Jew, Sikh, Shaman, indeed someone of any religion or none, just as capable as being 'spiritual' & loving? Why do you / others need a Christian Belief system? What is inherently loving within a Christian Belief system? It's plane to see the results of religion - (i don't agree with the title - but what he says stands true) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_Is_Not_Great

But it doesn't work to just try to convince yourself of your own lovability. Someone else has to show you. That's what Jesus does. For your sake, I wish it didn't have to be Christianity. If I knew a better, easier, more palatable way, I'd promote that instead. But I didn't know how to forgive until I was forgiven. I didn't know how to love until I was loved. God is love. You're right about that. We get it wrong on our own. We need to experience it. To be demonstrated what it's like to love sacrificially and selflessly.

We're all different - i don't see what God / Great Spirit - the spiritual realms & realities & the soul / psyche necessarily has to do with Christianity, or indeed any religion / spiritual system? i have my own personal spirituality. My ideal World would have no politics, poverty, inequality, war, religions, money, divisions, countries, borders, races - we would be united as one species / life in harmony with each other & the planet. As a species we'd be hard pushed to be able to create a worse global society / system / culture / 'civilisation' even if we tried.
