We will have to agree to disagree then. You are in no way a failure, even if you feel that way about yourself. You are a good person and treat others fairly, you help others where you can and you have certainly helped me, and opened my eyes to things I had not thought of. Am sure I am not the only one. And you do that every day on this forum; just because people are not members does not mean they are not engaging with what you are posting. Given all the trials you have been through in life I don't see that as failure. You have a lot of inner strength many of us do not possess, you should be proud of who you are, not feeling like you do. That is very kind & supportive of you. XXX

It's only the truth, Admin, you just have to start believing it yourself. xxx i've got totally addicted to the internet & worry with the state of the World. i need to make changes. i can't carry on arguing mental health areas on facebook & other places on line. & it's areas that i don't think anyone is going to settle. i have argued & can see all sides of this mental health debate & i don't really take any specific position on it all any more - other than a general stance on wanting the general attitudes & treatments towards it all to be a lot better. Not a lot that i can really do about it all. i have got into an argument with another extreme anti psychiatrist recently on fb. It's all so depressing, & it solves Nothing. i have to accept that this World / humanity is the way it is & that everyone has a different experience & perspective / opinion on things. i have put my own perspectives on stuff out there - & done what i can in relation to this whole area - that is all that i can do.

You can't change how other people are, and I understand the internet addiction, I am addicted as well. I think it is a validation thing for me.
We both need to make changes really. But no one can fault you for what you have done and tried to do, so don't beat yourself up about it. xxx

In other words, how can a healing sanctuary be even more about healing? I think that the natural extension of healing is to be better than “well”, and that tends into personal development and spirituality. It’s one reason why I left mental health forums for a while, I felt they were limiting my progress and it was better for me to spend some time on Buddhist and alternative boards. I do think this forum has a role to play, but it’s difficult to create an active user community without a continuous inflow of new users, and a really small community is not attractive for a lot of people. Advertising is one way to fill the gap, but I would suspect trying to get a high listing on google is not that effective. Maybe targeted adds on Facebook would work better.

I think a few dedicated users can do a lot of good. Think about the audience of the internet: anyone with internet access. I consider this a repository of mental health knowledge for future generations as well.
