Batting your head against a brick wall comes to mind.
I find the forum helpful/interesting - obviously so do the 150 plus guests.

Batting your head against a brick wall comes to mind. I find the forum helpful/interesting - obviously so do the 150 plus guests. Thanks. Who are they all? There were 6,326 page views on April the 28th. Looking up, sharing & posting the same information & having the same discussions / arguments with a lot of people is largely pointless. Waste of time a lot of the past 20 years on-line - other than with you & a few others. i feel like trying to do something else - dunno what? Maybe write a book, but i don't see how a book would be saying anything that hasn't already been said.

Re. the forum, only a small % ever have psychosis and an even smaller group of those could or would want to be able to go into/discuss all the various areas here.
Circular arguments are pointless, I agree. Lots of authors write about the same topics but they put their own spin on them.
Perhaps a short book would be a good idea, maybe an ebook?

Re. the forum, only a small % ever have psychosis and an even smaller group of those could or would want to be able to go into/discuss all the various areas here. This is true. Yes & the same opinions / arguments batted back & forth is pointless. A small book may be an idea? With regards to my own perspective on mental health the outline of it all i really see as very simple.

You could include some comments on how circular/bitter arguments in the mental health community are hindering progress too.

I think if you don't have the drive to speak out then maybe it is best to concentrate on yourself and your own wellbeing. The internet is a minefield and it can be very bad for your mental health. Hugs. xxx i feel despondent about this project / forum still. i am still getting into the same circular & polemical arguments / debates with people on-line, especially on facebook. I am sorry you are feeling this way Admin.
I am going to mention this forum to some people next week so you might get more members soon.
If people are coming onto the site even if they are not signing up you are obviously of interest.
I think a lot of people are maybe just looking for info and not wanting to debate or talk about anything, but they are still using your site.

Thank you. i wonder if it's a lot better just accepting the way everything is. Accepting my diagnosis as a no fault genetic brain condition best managed with medication, & that everyone did their best to treat it all as best as possible. & try & stop all this debate / discussion of it all. With age i also get more & more fed up of all the anti / critical / alternative psychiatry / medication areas as well.

It depends what is best for you, if you get fed up of something and it doesn't fire you up the same way maybe it's best to concentrate on what does. That doesn't mean you have to give it up completely. You have to look after yourself and your health as a priority, whatever you do.

It is what it is - i can't change the way this society / system is & the way it see's & treats people. 20 years ago before i started discussing stuff on-line i really expected there to be far more of a consensus on things, but there isn't. At the start i really hoped that i could raise awareness on certain areas & try & do something to change things for the better. Things have got worse, & where i was far more keen on all the alternatives at the start of it all, i am not in the same way any more. & as you have always said - it's not up to me to try & change it all - it's the responsibility of the wider society / medical & psychiatric system / health professionals & establishment. i have tried & try to look after myself as best as possible - it is not easy within my circumstances & with this illness / condition & within the current socioeconomic / political / media climate.

No it can't be easy. I think also the older we get the more cynical and jaded we become with everything. No one can fault you for not trying though.
Yes I think there are people with a lot more influence than us who could put it to good use and change the system, if not the world. It's not our responsibility to do so, but then I suppose they feel the same way.

Sorry Admin, this has been put back two weeks so will not get done until the 12th. Definitely will get done then though. A mixture of nerves and not feeling well really.

Should have got back to you earlier with this, did the talk, in summary, was decided that people thought it was a good idea, would like to implement it in their own lives but also that in the current climate was unlikely to happen, however we did acknowledge that it would likely save money in the long run if they did bring in a holistic approach. I was pretty nervous so didn't deliver as well as I hoped I would, but have passed on details of this site so dunno if you'll get any new members out of it or not but maybe more views and if anyone gets something out of coming on here for information is a good thing.
