I hate the constant "helpless victim"/omnipotent oppressor narrative always spun in the news today.
Here is one example of how Colonization and slavery is more nuanced than most people like to think.
According to Peter Salway, the British around 12 BC were trading corn, cattle, hides, and iron to the Roman armies and Empire.
This in turn stimulated British agriculture.
The Roman empire eventually collapsed under it's own weight later.
But my point is, when countries invade, colonize, or settle within one another, the changes effect people in a diverse amount of ways that you won't hear advertised in modern news outlets.
They're agenda is to simply get people to watch and react.
Scholars work on their research for years, they should still be played attention to in modern society.

There are some good bits in the rise & fall of Empires / Imperialism / Colonisation / Wars / Conflicts / Inequality / Death etc
Whooooo Hooooo!
i see no reason why it justifies the absolute mess of human 'civilisation' & why it stops us from creating a genuinely civilized World for all life / people?
