Yeah, that would just be business as usual, and further proof that there really is no party willing to prioritise protecting the vulnerable, rather than punishing them.

That is the reality of this society / system / 'civilisation' & current levels of human nature / individual & collective human consciousness. Is it rational to presuppose that the 21st Century is really going to be any different to the main themes, trajectories & problems of the 20th Century? It is very likely to be all the same worsening problems & intractable arguments / divisions & trends. i'm getting increasing amounts of people saying that my problem is that i identify with the illness / condition & that it's a victim mentality / excuse. There is an increasingly dehumanisation / lack of care about certain demographics of people, but there always has been.

They don't know what they are talking about, they are not living your life and experiencing what you do. There has always been little empathy for people with schizophrenia or related psychotic disorders in particular. That's just a fact, but if you haven't gone through it and actually understand what it is like to go through it then it's easy to come out with that kind of thing.
Such a lack of education about it all as well. I do think the dehumanisation has got worse in ways. But yes has always been there.

Most people don't have any clue as to what it is all like. i wish that there was a way of inducing 6 months of very severe / extreme psychosis in certain people - so they could truly know with it all. Let alone what forced hospitalisation / forced treatment is like in such states & then dealing with all the after effects of it all - the bad memories, anxiety, fear & medication dependency, with all the ignorance around it all. i don't think it helps that there is so much 'mild' mental illness & so many other social problems now as well. i think most people find their lives / life hard & begrudge people with severe mental illness as just being very immature & indulging in it all - which is also an attitude prevalent with a lot of the anti psychiatry areas - mental illness doesn't exist, people are malingering, it's simple problems in living / feckless idiots.

Yes and mh professionals like to paternalise, everyone sees us as children who need to be told what to do. i think it's all garbage & that just about everything is within this system / society / 'civilisation'. But then what is to be done about people deemed to be suffering mental illness? i don't think that it can all fundamentally change without a complete meta-paradigm shift of the wider society / system, science & medicine. 'No one' is going to agree on what the aetiology / nature is of mental illness, & the best ways of treating it all. & 'no one' will agree on it all until there is a complete understanding / model of how our entire biology / brain operates - in conjunction with awareness / consciousness & the interplay of biology / psychology & emotions / sociology & spirituality. Psychiatry is akin to the biomedical practise of leech therapy in it's advancement & understanding of all these areas. i wish that everyone would simply admit that we don't know with it all. That we don't have a genuine science of mind. i used to think that all the anti / critical / alternative psychiatry / medication areas have more of a clue - But they don't. No one does.

Yes, but what is the chances of them EVER understanding things fully, though? We are more likely to have destroyed ourselves and the planet before that is known.

We already have the knowledge & capability in many ways within many areas - But society / the establishment refuses to acknowledge & put it all together.

Too many vested interests not to, once again everything is about maintaining the status quo/system I imagine.

APRIL 20, 2020 A Universal Basic Income is Essential and Will Work by ELLEN BROWN “Where will the government find the money?” is no longer a valid objection to providing an economic safety net for the people. The government can find the money in the same place it just found more than $5 trillion for Wall Street and Corporate America: the central bank can print it. www.counterpunch.org/2020/04/20/a-universal-basic-income-is-essential-and-will-work/

World Basic Income & the Earth Dollar Solution Ambassador David Kam Published 2013 Environmental Economics, The World Basic Income Program can give all citizens in less fortune nations a modest, unconditional income, and let them top it up at will with income from other sources. We hope to work hand-in-hand with nations of the world to bring prosperity to all people. The World Basic Income Program is created by Mother Earth Trust through the issuance by the Earth Dollar Association of a complementary asset backed currency called the Earth Dollar. For our pilot project, a World Basic Income will be paid in cash (Earth Dollars), tax free, on a monthly basis to all people in selected regions in the world. www.academia.edu/24696177/World_Basic_Income_and_the_Earth_Dollar_Solution
