i think that this is linked -
The New Human Rights Movement - by Peter Joseph -
"Published by BenBella Books, this text gives a detailed analysis of the oppressive and unsustainable state of affairs we endure today. More importantly, it proposes the critical steps needed to change course before ecological and social instability become irreversible. At about 120,000 words, including over 800 sources/footnotes, the thoroughness of this work is extensive.
Needless to say, truly focused and open-minded discussions regarding how to resolve our growing ecological and social crises are scarce to be found in mainstream dialog. The world is steadily inching into more extreme and stressed positions. While America, the cultural leader of the world, wrestles with arguably the most disliked presidential candidates in history, the public/mainstream dialogue continues to ignore the true global state of social injustice, poverty, socioeconomic inequality, environmental disregard and other critical attributes that ultimately underscore what we experience in terms of our civil or human rights.
It is time this pattern is broken. We need a new conversation and this text is my current life’s work to help. I thank you in advance for your support."

imo a massive range of stuff comes under 'mental health' - Yes a percentage of people are primarily mentally ill. i also think that for a percentage of people things are far better seen, understood & approached primarily as a healing crisis, a psychological/spiritual emergence/emergency, that is very much resolvable & can be transformed/healed/cured. i also think that there are some people who cross both ranges. Within a more ideal system i'd wager that 80% of more of everything that comes under mental health could be cured/healed/resolved, medication free. A primary biomedical approach is imo largely wrong for everyone - sites.google.com/site/punishingthepatient/homeThat said in cases i'm Not opposed to a more comprehensive psychiatry, front end services & potential wise use of medication - But imo it shouldn't be the primary system/approach to it all, & more traditional approaches should be used very carefully & judiciously.
