Hey all,
I'm learning ways to heal and cope with the label schizoaffective. I recently have realized that although I keep striving to fit into Capitalist culture because I am able to work and function in college, I have no longer a desire to fit into a system that seems more and more patriarchal and biased as time goes on. The system does not need me. I simply offer too many ideas and theories that go above and outside of their box.
I do however want to research the cure for schizophrenia, and if I can understand enough about the mechanics behind the actual studies I might be able to find one. I think anti-psychotics work primarily as a filter but whether or not its passed down through genes doesn't seem to get one closer to a biological cure for a biological brain illness.
After all, genes may code our behavior but behavior is not the sole basis of schizophrenia. Anyone can behave a certain way and go back to normal. A person with schizophrenia at face value behaves strangely but internally there is something going on. To reverse the overstimulation of receptors doesn't sound impossible.
Schizophrenia is NOT cancer of the mind people. Schizophrenia is curable. But the pharma isn't telling us how to do it. So we have to research it on our own without their help.
The brain is so adaptable, so keeping it in a loop doesn't get you close to any sort of progress. Unless society would rather keep us complacent. Doesn't seem likely in America does it? hmmm
