i do see the point that she is making - within the Grand Cosmic / Universal / Deep Time / all that is perspective does it really matter that much? It seems a shame, but then can it all be stopped? i'm Not sure that it can? i think it's too late to reverse what has been put in motion. & all the attitudes / behaviour that have caused all the mess that we find ourselves in are still highly prevalent - base human nature / awareness / ethics / morality hasn't significantly evolved in any way at all. We are still full steam ahead destroying the planet. & i don't know what it is with most people, but they just don't seem bothered by it all, a lot of people are so focused on their own individual lives that they don't appear to think about or contemplate any of these areas to any large degree, & a lot of people simply deny that there is any real problem & / or that it will all be put right. i have always found it a terrifying area as i am convinced that we are headed to catastrophic systemic ecosystem / civilisation collapse, in probably Not too short a time. But who knows what forms it will all take? As one person there is also really Nothing that i can do about it all, other than observe it all & pass comment.

Update on the State of the Planet: How Then Shall We Live? From Jeff Layne media.csuchico.edu/media/0_2ljujwjgDahr Jamail Environmental Journalist Dahr Jamail is a journalist who has spent several years researching what he labels “anthropogenic climate disruption,” also referred to as human-caused climate change. In this presentation, he shares some findings of his research, which will be included in his soon-to-be-published book, “The End of Ice.” He presents compelling – and sobering – information about the rise in the Earth’s surface temperature, the melting of the polar ice caps, and sea level rise. Jamail then talks about the human response to these very serious problems, and how people can cope and cooperate with each other in the face of them. Recorded: March 16, 2018

Four pillars of destruction: 1. Imperialism, 2. Capitalism, 3. Materialism 4. Denialism - All four together will bring the system to disintegration.
Let ignorance reign........

I am not sure what Corbyn can do, given he isn't in the party in power. Would have made more sense to glue themselves to the fence of Theresa May, although she probably has an estate with an electric fence to keep out the plebs.
Certainly the right wing media has implied the protestors are drug addled privileged hippies, instead of addressing the issue. Climate change will effect everyone, whoever they are, and whoever is protesting is irrelevant, really.
Nothing wrong with being a hippie, unless you are defending the establishment/system. And given it's the system which has been the catalyst for the impending doom, of course they are going to try and distract attention away from the real issue. So when commuters/cogs in the machine are a bit late for work, suddenly imminent planetary destruction is something to be ignored and dismissed.

Corbyn's house, as you say, is accessible and guarantees publicity, as he is often pictured leaving it for starters.
Interesting news comments around about how so many of the very rich are dipping into their pockets for Notre Dame and wouldn't it be good if the cause was homelessness or climate change

Well, someone said to me Catholics always help anything to do with the Church. You would think they would have read the Bible before, 'love thy neighbour' and all that. People would always have been more of a priority for Jesus than buildings.
They will rely on God to sort out climate change.
Maybe God is fed up sorting things out. You can't blame Him. He must get fed up of his Son's teachings being ignored by the people who claim to follow Him.
Climate change is our mess and it's our job to sort it out. We can fix it if we choose to. Those who are campaigning to fix it are only doing God's work.. by trying to save the planet which God may or may not have created. You do not need to be a Christian to see that that makes sense. If we destroy the planet then we are disrespecting God, if you believe He created it.. so Catholics should be trying to save it or campaigning to save it.
