Description
Slow-moving, peaceful, ponderous creatures with six limbs (four arms, two legs), hunched backs and long necks. Each Mystic wears a unique coat or robe worked with spiral patterns.
Though they are often called Mystics, these gentle creatures that represent the ‘light’ half of the Skeksis are called urRu. When the names of the urRu and the Skeksis are combined, they form the names of the urSkeks: the original race which arrived on Thra and was later split in two by the light of the Triple Sun and the Crystal.
After the separation, the Mystics scattered themselves across Thra, rarely gathering in one place. They became hermits and wanderers, absorbing what wisdom they could from the world, and returning it to the many creatures, including the Gelfling, they encountered. Now, they are rarely seen, nothing but myths to even the Skeksis with whom they are intertwined.
Slow-moving, peaceful, ponderous creatures with six limbs (four arms, two legs), hunched backs and long necks. Each Mystic wears a unique coat or robe worked with spiral patterns.
Thoughtful and in the moment, peaceful but occasionally sluggish, Mystics take their time understanding the world around them, philosophizing their way through life—so much so that sometimes they forget to actually do anything. They’re very in tune with nature, and spend much of their days asking questions and waiting for the answers.
Mystic ways include stone rituals, leaves, and smoke (as we learn when Aughra experiments with these things to try to find the Song of Thra).
