There is a forum for "general mental health debate", but that heading doesn't seem quite appropriate for articles on topics in the general area of mental health and mental illness whose focus is not primarily on debate between opposing points of view. I'm in the middle of reading such an article at the moment. When I've finished it, I'll post a note about it in one or other of the various sub-forums of Healing Sanctuary (making an arbitrary decision), and update this post with a reference; then it might be clearer what I mean. Either I'm unaware of an appropriate existing sub-forum, or else I'm failing to see the appropriateness of one of the existing sub-forums, or else a new sub-forum should be created. In the latter case, we would need to decide on an appropriate name. Update: here is the article (which I've posted in the Psychological Approaches sub-forum): How to heal the 'mass trauma' of Covid-19.

Is there any hope of such a sub-forum being created? If so, is there any hope of the above article being moved into the more appropriate location?

I still can't think of any better name than General mental health discussion, but I'm open to suggestions, and there's no rush.

i have added the main categories of mental health difficulty / experience / diagnosis. Ah, I see, I didn't realise you were doing that. I saw your post about learning disability (along with a number of other new posts that I didn't have time to read) just as I was going to bed last night. Naturally I followed up with a post about my brother. With hindsight, it was inappropriate to post that as a followup to an introductory post in a new sub-forum devoted to that topic. Perhaps if I were to start a new thread, with some such title as "My brother", you would be able to use your Admin superpowers to move what I wrote last night, along with the replies to it, to the new thread? If not, sorry.

Another point, regarding the new headings (which I am sure will be very useful):
The front page of the website has a list of high-level headings, in a kind of aquamarine colour. You could put all the new sub-forums for particular categories of mental illness under a single such high-level heading. That would make the overall organisation of the site clearer, for instance if there is a new category to be added.
I don't know what would be a suitable heading. Perhaps something like "Particular mental health difficulties"? (I'm not very keen on that exact wording; it's just off the top of my head.) Or perhaps something more succinct, like "Particular kinds of mental disturbance", or "Particular mental disorders". (Of course the whole vexed question of language is involved. It seems best to me to avoid the word "illness" in such a heading. Either "disturbance" or "disorder" seems more neutral to me, but I don't know whether other people would interpret the words in the same way I do.)
Perhaps simply "Categories of disorder"?

That looks fine to me, except: - The categories "General" and "Mental Health in the Media" should probably be placed above "Categories of Disorder" on the front page, for ease of access;
- "Dementia & Brain Injury's" should be "Dementia & Brain Injuries".

It's looking good. Because all the other sub-forum titles are capitalised, so should the new one be, thus: General Mental Health Discussion. I have several minor suggestions, not involving any alteration to the sub-forums. I'll mix my suggestions together, because they are related: First, although I think that the Mental Health Related News Articles sub-forum should indeed be near the top (although it hasn't been at all active lately, that could easily change), its placement all on its own under a similarly titled high-level heading gives it undue prominence. A very minor alteration would be to merge it with Web Links & Resources, i.e., place these two sub-forums together under a suitable high-level heading. I won't suggest any ideas for that heading, though, because I think that a better idea would be to place both these sub-forums under the General heading; and a better idea still would be to eliminate the General heading altogether! Whether or not you agree with any of those suggestions, I think that if it is possible to reorder the list of sub-forums under the General heading (or under no high-level heading at all - if you decide to adopt that suggestion), then some order like the following might be good. I have included the two Web-related sub-forums already mentioned, in case you agree with my suggestion to merge these into the same list: - General Board
- General Mental Health Discussion
- General Mental Health Debate
- Description of Experiences &/or General Mental Health Support
- Mainstream Approaches
- New Members Welcome Area
- Forum Rules & Guidelines
- Forum Suggestions
- Mental Health Related News Articles
- Web Links & Resources
This list of sub-forums would then be followed by the section on Categories of Disorder, much as it is at the moment.

Thanks Chimera, i shall have a think about it all.
Will leave it all as it is for now.
Do you have any suggestions for any other sub forums / category headings?
