I watched the first part of this two-part documentary the other day, found it really interesting. It was about how things were inside an asylum for the criminally insane, with inmates who had committed serious crimes but were found to have acted under the influence of insanity, in Ohio in the USA.
It struck me that if things had gone a little differently for me, I might have ended up there. When I was unwell there were definitely a few times when I could have done something stupid.

Watched the second part, really interesting stuff. There are people there with just a bit more fear and distrust and anxiety, who when pushed by their disorders committed some pretty awful crimes, and who now live on these wards. There were some really intrigueing discussions about malingering and simulation, people who were ‘faking it’ but at the same also had a genuine disorder.
