The bitcoin fascinates me and yet I just cannot get my head round the concept of it. I know its "virtual".. I understand about the silk road and Dark web, and how it came into being. But then my head aches with it all...how would I buy say.. a big house.. if I was a bit coin millionaire from selling dodgy things on the dark web? Mind boggling... must be my age.. Apart from that ... all for people getting guaranteed income and a tax on robots.....

i find it incredibly difficult to get my head around bitcoin as well Malli. It's not so difficult. Bitcoin is what's called a crypto currency, it can be mined by computers. It is traded on these 'crypto currency exchanges' where you can get Pounds Sterling or Dollars for your Bitcoin. So basically crooks do all their buying and selling on the dark web with bitcoin and other crypto currencies because it's very difficult to trace compared to say bank transactions, but if they wanted to take the money out and buy something real with it that would happen via an exchange, where they'd get real money. There are some real world shops where you can buy things with bitcoin directly, but not very many. They usually display the bitcoin sign, a b with lines through it (like the dollar sign is an s with lines through it).
