It was all such a load of whipped up tosh, but then if some of your own party are also out to get you, you haven't got much of a chance.

What annoys me is the way the media have suddenly started to criticise the government, almost as soon as JC was out of office. It is so obviously because the new leader is willing to play ball with the elite. He's acceptable to the media. So criticism of the government is now ok.

I am really sorry that the situation within the opposition seemed to get so bad that there is this huge Tory majority, can hardly believe it really after so many years in office.
It is important that they are effective in criticising all of the ridiculous government antics that go on.

Whether they will be so under the new leader is another matter.

It's the average person / country that will pay a very severe price for it all - But it is what people have voted for & have supported.

Jews accused of antisemitism Murray Glickman has extensive experience, as a trade-union activist and briefly a trade-union employee, of supporting members facing disciplinary action by their employers. Here he draws on his experience as JVL’s Support Officer, to offer his personal reflections on the reality that a large number of Jews are being accused of antisemitism. He struggles to make sense of it all. So do we. Fri 5 Jun 2020 www.jewishvoiceforlabour.org.uk/article/jews-accused-of-antisemitism/

An election message from Tel Aviv: Corbyn would be good for Israel Gideon Levy 2 December 2019 14:42 UTC | Last update: 6 months ago A more just Israel is the real solution, possibly the only solution, to antisemitism today. Corbyn's Labour could help make it happen www.middleeasteye.net/opinion/why-i-would-vote-jeremy-corbyn-if-i-were-britishCorbyn is the only prominent statesman who understands that the time for empty rhetoric - rather than action - about this Middle East conflict must come to an end

While antisemites cheer Johnson, this Holocaust survivor’s family is fleeing Britain tompride.wordpress.com/2019/12/30/while-antisemites-cheer-johnson-this-holocaust-survivors-family-is-fleeing-britain/"The threat to Jews from antisemitism comes almost exclusively from the Right, not the Left. Research shows this to be a fact But in order to smear a Labour leader that was threatening the influence and power of a few billionaires, the press in the UK – helped by centrists, Tories, Lib Dems and a handful of people in Labour who simply wanted to replace their leader – managed to convince most people that the threat of antisemitism comes from the Left, specifically from Labour. This is not true. In the last couple of years I have shown – with research – that antisemitism exists in the UK but is almost exclusively a right-wing phenomena"

The fullest analysis yet of the leaked report into the Labour Party Governance and Legal Unit (GLU) <<...If the report is accurate, the woeful ineptitude it claims of the GLU prior to March 2018 presents Corbyn’s critics with a dilemma. This is because Matthews, Hogan and other members of the GLU at that time were the very same people who would go on to to denounce the leader’s office in the July 2019 Panorama programme ’Is Labour Anti-Semitic?’. In the programme these staffers blamed the leadership for any shortcomings in investigating antisemitism. A similar line is taken in a submission from the Jewish Labour Movement to the ongoing Equalities and Human Rights Commission probe into the Labour Party’s handling of antisemitism, leaked just before the December 2019 election. “Staff describe a ‘cultural shift’ in the party’s management following the 2017 general election,” the Jewish Labour Movement’s submission says. “They say that decisions by GLU staff were increasingly undermined. From the election onwards staffers say they that LOTO [Leader of the Opposition] expected the GLU staff to follow unwritten guidelines that raised the bar on which antisemitic conduct warranted disciplinary action.” This fails to explain why just thirteen notices of investigation and six suspensions were issued in the first six months of 2017, according to Labour Party statistics. And the report claims there is no documentary evidence to support the Jewish Labour Movement’s assertion...>> Were Labour’s antisemitism failures really Corbyn’s fault? A leaked Labour report seems to provide evidence that it was in fact Corbyn’s opponents who delayed the disciplining of antisemites. Why has the media barely mentioned this? www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocracyuk/were-labours-antisemitism-failures-really-corbyns-fault/
