Reclaiming the Narrative: How to Combat Israel’s Misuse of “Antisemitism” While anti-Jewish racism is a real phenomenon that must be confronted, but “antisemitism, as defined by Israel, is a smokescreen with the ultimate aim of distracting from the real conversation: the crimes of military occupation, racism, and apartheid in Palestine. by Ramzy Baroud www.mintpressnews.com/combat-israels-misuse-antisemitism/264055/

After an exhaustive 18-month inquiry by the EHRC and the Met into 'antisemitism' among Labour's half-a-million members - after which a huge dossier of so-called 'evidence' was turned over to police - only five former members were judged to have used antisemitic language, and no-one was charged with any crime. Just let that sink in a moment.
This was the conclusion of a four-year McCarthyite witch hunt by the right-leaning entryists - a few dozen Labour MPs who were furious at having been disempowered when Jeremy Corbyn democratised the party, and so cynically aligned themselves with the pro-Israel lobby in order to prevent a truly progressive government. Of course the Tory press lapped it up.
Say it loud and say it proud: Israel is a racist apartheid state engaged in the slow genocide of the Palestinian people. Its settlements are considered illegal by the UN, and its soldiers murder human children for sport. It is no more 'antisemitic' to point this out than it was 'anti-British' of a million UK citizens to march through London in protest against the Iraq war. No government should be above criticism. Netanyahu's Israel is no exception.

We Need to Learn Lessons From Labour’s “Antisemitism Crisis” BY JAMIE STERN-WEINER The British Labour Party botched its response to false allegations of rampant antisemitism among the party membership. Left-wing movements in other countries can’t make the same mistake. “The campaign to depict the British Labour Party as a hotbed of antisemitism was, in its profile and its protractedness, unprecedented in modern British politics ... Jeremy Corbyn’s election as Labour leader saw such charges weaponized by the full breadth of Britain’s establishment, as it sought to discredit and defeat a popular insurgency. Three distinct if overlapping networks pushed the story: the Conservative Party, the Labour Party’s own right wing, and Britain’s pro-Israel Jewish establishment. Each played an indispensable role.” jacobinmag.com/2020/02/labours-party-antisemitism-crisis-corbyn-sanders

The Labour Party Inquisition – a case study We reprint the more-than six month saga of George Wilmers’ investigation by the Governance and Legal Unit of the Labour Party. This record raises many questions, some of which have been raised previously – such as the scant evidence on which the Party chooses to pursue an investigation, and a style of interrogation that appears designed to give those accused little choice but to incriminate themselves. www.jewishvoiceforlabour.org.uk/article/the-labour-party-inquisition-a-case-study/

The UK media got the Labour Antisemitism story wrong: Will they admit it? The leaked Labour anti-semitism report provides an unrivalled test of integrity for the British media, writes Justin Schlosberg. ceasefiremagazine.co.uk/corbyn-antisemitism-british-media-admit-story-wrong/The greatest threat to democracy is not lying politicians, fake news or propaganda. Such things have always been endemic to the messy reality of politics in formally democratic systems, just as they are under authoritarian regimes. Indeed, one of the essential features of a functioning democracy is that even the most trusted and respected news institutions must be allowed, on occasion at least, to get the story wrong. What really distinguishes a democratic media system is that, if and when the truth does emerge, it is duly told. This requires professional journalists to have an unflinching instinct for self-reflection. It requires an individual, collective and relentless willingness to ask, in the light of new evidence, whether they got the story wrong and, if so, to correct the public record and acknowledge mistakes.

Study Reveals How UK Intelligence Works with Media to Smear Jeremy Corbyn New research from Matt Kennard has shown how the British intelligence establishment works with the UK media to smear Jeremy Corbyn. by Alan Macleod www.mintpressnews.com/new-study-reveals-uk-intelligence-smear-campaign-against-jeremy-corbyn/263231/The United Kingdom goes to the polls December 12 in a pivotal vote that will decide the future of the country. Like in 2017, the Labour Party, under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn, is surging towards the ruling Conservative Party in the last weeks of campaigning. But he will not become Prime Minister if the UK’s security services have anything to do with it. Corbyn, frequently compared to Bernie Sanders in terms of ideology, spent decades in the political wilderness, a lonely leftist voice among a party embracing neoliberalism, the free market and big business. And like Sanders, his leadership has put socialism back on the agenda. As Prime Minister, Corbyn promises to nationalize large swaths of the economy, including water, energy, transport and communications, increase the minimum wage by over 20 percent, scrap university tuition fees, rebuild the National Health Service, provide free high-speed Internet for every home, build 100,000 social houses every year and start a green industrial revolution. Internationally, he has been a committed anti-imperialist peace activist, leading the resistance to the Iraq War nationally and has promised to refuse to use Britain’s nuclear weapons. He has also constantly championed Palestinian rights and opposed the West’s attempts at removing Latin American leaders from power via coups.

Yes. The answer to your original question. Why? Someone who has campaigned against antisemitism all their life, unlike his detractors, is not an antisemite.
