"There is nothing to fear in death. Death is a great liberator; death brings freedom. You rejoice when babies come into your world. There are many who cry in our world when babies are about to be born into your world. Similarly, there is weeping when people die in your world, but there is rejoicing in ours." "There is no religion higher than service. To heal the sick, to comfort the mourner, to guide the perplexed, to give strength to the weary and direction to those who have lost their way, those are the most important tasks of all … Never forget that the supreme purpose of life is the unfoldment of the spirit.” (Guidance from Silver Birch p. 71) November 20th, 2020 victorzammit.com/November20th2020/

"We are living together with the so-called dead. The dead are always present. They move and have their being in a super-sensible world. We are not separated from them by our ‘real being,’ only by our condition of consciousness. We are only separated from them as in sleep we are separated from the things around us; we sleep in a room and do not see the chairs and other things. Though we do not describe it thus, yet as regards our feeling and will, we ‘sleep’ in the so-called waking condition among the dead, just as we do not perceive the physical objects around us when we sleep.
Thus we do not live separated from the world ruled by the forces of the dead, we are together with them in one common world. In our ordinary consciousness we are only separated from them by the state of that consciousness.
This knowledge of our common life with the dead will be one of the most important elements which Spiritual Science is to implant in the general human consciousness, in the general civilisation of mankind for the future; for those who believe that what takes place around them occurs only through the forces perceived in the life of the senses, know nothing of the reality; they do not know that the forces of the dead are always at work, always present."

“We run after values that, at death, become zero. At the end of your life, nobody asks you how many degrees you have, or how many mansions you built, or how many Rolls Royces you could afford. That’s what dying patients teach you.” Elisabeth Kübler-Ross December 4th 2020 www.victorzammit.com/December4th2020/COMMENTARY: ARE THERE RELIGIONS IN THE AFTERLIFE? Whilst there are five major religions in the world today - Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, and Islam, some writers estimate that there are some 4,200 religions and 'faiths'. While many are tolerant and focus on inter-faith dialogue, some still teach their followers that they are the only ones that will be entitled to enter "heaven". We now know that it is a matter of physics that everyone survives death, and most of us will find ourselves in one of the thought-responsive astral realms. So what happens to those who believe they have exclusive right to have survived death? Will they notice that they are not alone? We are told on good authority that, at least in the initial stages, members of earth religions who wish to continue to live in closed communities will do so. They will think that they have reached the 'heaven' which was promised only to their members, complete with places of worship, priests and preachers. Out-of-body experiencers like Robert Monroe talk about "belief system territories". Some are described as pleasant, some as oppressive, and most seem to be boring. Eventually all will awaken to a realisation that love and service to others are the core of true religion and will move into more compatible areas of the afterlife. An excellent book which deals with this subject is William Bulhman's Adventures in the Afterlife.

“… if you had perfect faith you could rise above all the troubles of your world. You would turn your faces to the sun, which is but an emblem of the Great Spirit, and say: “I am a part of the Great Spirit. I am indestructible. I am eternal. I am infinite. That which is finite and part of the world of matter cannot touch me”. If you did that, you would not be touched.” (Teachings of Silver Birch, 1993, p.52) Friday, December 11th 2020 victorzammit.com/December11th2020/Scientists who investigated the afterlife Many brilliant scientists have used scientific method to investigate the afterlife and psychic phenomena. They were skeptical at first and it was only after thorough investigation that they accepted that it exists. There were other world famous engineers, medical doctors, philosophers, lawyers, judges and highly regarded professional people who also accepted the afterlife after years of investigation. Many of these were highly practical people whose major discoveries in other areas fundamentally changed the way people work and live. Many considered themselves to be Rationalists and Humanists and had to face intense opposition from both highly conservative Christian clergy and from materialist scientists. "The day will assuredly come when our two worlds will be closely interrelated, when communication between the two will be a commonplace of life, and then the great wealth of resources of the spirit world will be open to the earth world, to draw upon for the benefit of the whole human race". Mons. High Benson. Friday December 18th, 2020 victorzammit.com/December18th2020/www.psychicnews.org.uk/articles/SilverBirchonChristmasIt is a practice among those of us who belong to certain groups to retire to the inner spheres at two festivals which long pre-date your Christian counterparts, Christmas and Easter. These, as you know, have their origin in the celebrations in ancient times of the passage of the sun as it appeared to those who saw in its appearance, its lengthening and shortening, the symbols of divine activity. When the sun attained its full glory it was regarded as the period of resurrection, when nature sang its paean of praise and displayed its profound beauty for all to see. That which had been sown was reaped in its splendour of growth. Part sun played Correspondingly there was the winter solstice when, after the high noon of summer, there came the drooping as nature prepared and husbanded itself, fertilising and making ready all growth which had to appear when the cycle had achieved completion. So at Christmas you had the birth of the
sun, the end of the long cycle when there arose the first sign that new life was being born into your earthly world. Those times had a significance to us because then we received the greatest communion from the Great Spirit. You do
not yet understand very much about the influence
of the sun. Seen as symbol At these times, we held for many days what you call séances. We received at those festivals much inspiration. So, when it comes again to the time which all of us regarded as the most important in our lives, we gather together and celebrate with those who are our own. This started with the influence of the sun, but that was only a symbol. There is an influence from all life to other life, from all matter to other matter, and from all planets to other planets. This time is chosen because all of us are associated with races whose religions were founded upon the laws of nature. To us, the festival of the birth of the sun was the greatest of all because it represented the beginning of a new era. It is the end of the cycle, and a new one begins.

"Why is fear essential when you know what you are and can be? No, fear is wrong, for fear makes you afraid and you should not be afraid. You should live in the sunlight of knowledge based on the confidence that you are eternal spirits and nothing can hurt or damage for ever the eternity which is yours". Silver Birch Anthology pp.94-95 Friday January 8th, 2021 victorzammit.com/January8th2021/COMMENTARY: UNLEASH THE SPIRITUAL GIANT WITHIN Have you ever thought of the implications of what spiritual teachers mean when they say that we all have "a spark of the divine"? What could we accomplish if we really believed that our thoughts have so much creative power? Silver Birch explained it like this: "The people in your world have, with very few exceptions, not yet begun to live. They are expressing only infinitesimal portions of the power which is resident with them. In supreme moments of crisis or emergency they call on that extraordinary power and it gives them added strength, added courage, added wisdom. But that power can be tapped all the time. It can give you health to master disease, direction in times of uncertainty, guidance when you are perplexed, strength when you are weary and vision when you are blind. It is there for you to express it". He goes on to say that although we say that we are part of the Great Power and know that we are eternal, too many of us are crippled by fear and forget who we are. "Why is fear essential when you know what you are and can be? No, fear is wrong, for fear makes you afraid and you should not be afraid. You should live in the sunlight of knowledge based on the confidence that you are eternal spirits and nothing can hurt or damage for ever the eternity which is yours". Silver Birch Anthologypp.94-95.

"Worship does not consist in prayers and in external devotion, but in a life of kindness". Emanuel Swedenborg "Bringing light where there is darkness and hope where there is despair." Friday January 15th, 2021 victorzammit.com/January15th2021/Why Animal Rights? www.peta.org/about-peta/why-peta/why-animal-rights/Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos. Many of us bought our beloved “pets” at pet shops and kept beautiful birds in cages. We wore wool and silk, ate McDonald’s burgers, and fished. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. For whatever reason, you are now asking the question: Why should animals have rights? In his book Animal Liberation, Peter Singer states that the basic principle of equality does not require equal or identical treatment; it requires equal consideration. This is an important distinction when talking about animal rights. People often ask if animals should have rights, and quite simply, the answer is “Yes!” Animals surely deserve to live their lives free from suffering and exploitation. Jeremy Bentham, the founder of the reforming utilitarian school of moral philosophy, stated that when deciding on a being’s rights, “The question is not ‘Can they reason?’ nor ‘Can they talk?’ but ‘Can they suffer?’” In that passage, Bentham points to the capacity for suffering as the vital characteristic that gives a being the right to equal consideration. The capacity for suffering is not just another characteristic like the capacity for language or higher mathematics. All animals have the ability to suffer in the same way and to the same degree that humans do. They feel pain, pleasure, fear, frustration, loneliness, and motherly love. Whenever we consider doing something that would interfere with their needs, we are morally obligated to take them into account. Supporters of animal rights believe that animals have an inherent worth—a value completely separate from their usefulness to humans. We believe that every creature with a will to live has a right to live free from pain and suffering. Animal rights is not just a philosophy—it is a social movement that challenges society’s traditional view that all nonhuman animals exist solely for human use. As PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk has said, “When it comes to pain, love, joy, loneliness, and fear, a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy. Each one values his or her life and fights the knife.” Watch a video with Ingrid Newkirk from the 2015 Animal Rights National Conference here. Only prejudice allows us to deny others the rights that we expect to have for ourselves. Whether it’s based on race, gender, sexual orientation, or species, prejudice is morally unacceptable. If you wouldn’t eat a dog, why eat a pig? Dogs and pigs have the same capacity to feel pain, but it is prejudice based on species that allows us to think of one animal as a companion and the other as dinner.

"Actually, every one of you travels astrally when you go to sleep. Then your spirit, for the time being, departs from your body, roams into our world and meets souls you love and who love you". Silver Birch "Bringing light where there is darkness and hope where there is despair." Friday January 22nd, 2021 www.victorzammit.com/January22nd2021/SELFLESS SERVICE THE KEY Question: "You said in the past that atheists can go to 'the realm of the Light'. How is that possible when religion tells us atheists are destined to go to hell? Victor: First of all there is no hell in the sense that you mean it. What I have said is that anyone (including atheists, agnostics, and others) who lovingly performs unselfish service while living on planet earth, will make it to the realm of the Light. Why? What will be the most relevant immediately on crossing over is how much unselfish service one performs - how much love one gives to others. This is because unselfish service expands the consciousness and raises the vibrations of the etheric spirit-body. When we DO something positively for others in an unselfish way we are making the world a better place. That has positive spiritual consequences irrespective of beliefs. We know of many atheists who are highly spiritual with the work they do to help others.

Ken Vincent argues: a). For the first 500 years of Christianity, Christians and Christian theologians were broadly Universalist (believing that all people are destined to eventually go to heaven). b). Mistranslation of the word "eon" in Scriptures from Greek to Latin contributed to the reinterpretation of the nature of Hell. c). The merging of Church and State fostered the corruption of Universalist thought. d). Modern archeological findings and Biblical scholarship confirm Universalist thought among early Christians. e). Contemporary Christian scholars find Universalist theology most authentic to Jesus. Read more - www.near-death.com/religion/god-is-with-us/the-salvation-conspiracy-how-hell-became-eternal.html
